GREETINGS FROM THE PRESIDENT OF CLUB ALPINO ITALIANO

After several years’ tough ‘sailing’, we are finally ready to start.

I trust that our voyage will be blessed by favourable winds.  Today, a national association with international partners, like the Club Alpino Italiano – a reference point for mountain enthusiasts of all kinds – cannot afford not to have this vital new “web portal”, updated in both content and in the respective languages.

Communicating effectively in a way that responds to the need for fast and user-friendly information is a cultural imperative that cannot be ignored.  This new tool will inform members and non-members alike about the broad range of activities that the Club promotes and thus heighten their awareness of mountain issues and encourage them to enjoy the mountains in a responsible manner.

With 144 years’ experience behind us, CAI hopes to continue and to improve in its role as the privileged representive of the “mountain planet”.  Our association’s firm commitment is to renew the interest of future generations, through the virtual dimension of the Web, and help them to approach the real dimension of the territory and the mountain environment in a safe, informed and conscientious way.
